is there a fault code?

Customer replied 284 days and 8 hours ago.

No fault code showing. When the central heating is playing up the burner is showing one bar and doesn't increase, therefore the pipes don't get hot, just warm. Hot water goes between scalding and cold

i am surprised the engineer didn't clean the heat exchanger plate. could be scaling on the plate or a faulty pump and i would think both of these problems would have been checked by the serviceman. either the flow meter which sends the signal to the pcb board is faulty or the pcb board itself is faulty.

I phone my engineer and got his answering machine. I left a message stating your findings. I will need to wait 'till he gets back to me. Is there anything else it could be? Could it be the heat excahanger? I bet it's a real headache for you - these intermittent problems! As per usual they never appear when the engineer calls!

the size of the headache depends on the customer i am dealing with. i feel no headache at all here. i sense you understand these problems are tough enough to diagnose on site let alone remotely! if the heat exchanger were damaged like a cracked there would be water leaking likely from near the top. usually i have found with the symptoms you described would be scaling, flow meter and i think most likely pcb board. i think the pcb board since the problem is erratic and there is not an error code.

Thanks again. I spoke to the engineer. He did replace the flow meter (before my last email) but problem persists, hence I contacted you. When I spoke to him today he is going to order me a new pcb board. I hope at last the problem looks like bring fixed. I think we will all be disappointed if when he has fitted the new pcb that the problem comes back. I thank you in the meantime. If I click OK or better does that mean I can't contact you again? Regards, Andrew

Hello,

I waited 2 weeks after the engineer replaced a small pcb in a black and red box. There has been no problems since he fitted this. Looks like everything is OK now.

Thanks very much for your help.

Regards,

Andrew
