My Combi Boiler isn't working, neither hot water or heating. The light is on and it makes a noise when you try and use the hot water or heating. It a Worcester, model - 24i.
Already Tried: Switching heating on and off. Used the inlet tap to bring the pressure up from less than 0.5bar to 1.5bar with the boiler in the "off" state.
Hi my name is XXXXXX - lets see if we can get you sorted in the shortest possible time. Does the burner light at all?
how do i find the burner. I've taken the front case off. can see some gubbins along with a large silver metal panel. there is a small cealed hole on the panel that looks like it could be a window to view the burner light.
Do you see any pilot when the boiler is reset through the viewing window?
How do I reset the boiler?I've placed some iages of it here....http://i50.tinypic.com/263vwbk.jpghttp://i48.tinypic.com/2qveet1.jpghttp://i46.tinypic.com/2uqduz7.jpg
Tell me if it works if you turn the dial to the sun symbol and leave it for 5 minutes and the turn to heating. Let me know what happens
ok, so I tried this just now. turned the nob to the sun, the heating switched off. left i like this for 5 - 10 minutes. I then turned the nob away from the sun (clockwise) to number 2 setting, turned the heating on. The thing started up, as if it were about to begin heating the house, no sign of a pilot light coming (assuming the pilot light is in the circle in the metal front piece in this image http://i46.tinypic.com/2uqduz7.jpg ). Left the heating on for 20 minutes, no sign of any heat in the radiators or the copper pipes coming out of the boiler. No hot water working either.
Ok, the start up sequence should go;FanAir pressure switch (click)IgnitionPilotMain BurnerThis whole sequence should take about 5 seconds. Can you tell me how far through the sequence it goes?
fan goes on. there is a click. there does seem to be aby kibd of lighting sound and there no pilot light. so the air pressure switch is the last step that works.
You may find that the pilot jet is dirty or the spark electrodes because you should see it sparking through the window. When did you have it serviced last?
not sure how long since the last service, betwen one and two years. it had a safety check a year ago. no sign of sparkibg on it.
