Customer Question

Hallo Have just moved to rented property with Potterton K2 boiler. Is there any way in which I can adjust the water temperature, which is far too hot at the moment and ideally, what is the best temperature for the water>
Thank you, Jill

Hi my name is XXXXX XXXXX lets see if we can get you sorted in the shortest possible time. Do you have a cylinder? If there is no control knob on the front of the boiler to adjust the temperature then it is preset and cannot be altered.

Customer replied 375 days and 14 hours ago.

Good morning Andrew, sorry for delay in replying.
Im not sure whether I have a cylinder linked to my boiler, as there is a property above me. Hopefully I am not warming them as well!

The boiler has removable panels to the front but until you can advise what I might find behind the main lower panel I am reluctant to remove it....!

My landlord did vaguely mention that the temperature of water might be pre-set but it is scaldingly hot from the tap = does this mean I will be using excessive gas? Also should I find a thermostat, what is the ideal setting for water temperature>

Thank you for your help
Jill

If your boiler has more than 3 pipes going to it then it is a combi and there is no cylinder. If there is no water temperature control knob on the boiler then it is preset and you cannot change it. You will only be using excessive gas by heating the water hotter than you want it.
