Did you just not attend at all?

No but I notified the city two weeks before as I had appointments with consultants that I couldn't cancel

Sorry notified the court

That is a bail act offence then I'm afraid. If you are a defendant then they will bring a bail act charge. What were you die in court for?

As a juror

For jury service

Ok. Then you aren't on bail but this is a contempt of court. I'm afraid jurors do go to prison for not attending. Often no action is taken but since they have summonsed you then a contempt is being considered. If you apologise emphatically the judge might consider other options. I would marshal your affairs though just in case. If it is a custodial sentence it will be a very short one. Can I clarify anything for you. Jo
