Customer Question

A builder demanded payment for what he described as extras. I have informed him that I dispute that additional work was done and his work wasconsistent with the contract. He had previously charged me 4400 for work to foundations whilst I was on holiday on the instruction of the building inspector. The building inspector has since refuted this. A debt recovery agency are now working on his behalf. They have been aggressive with their demands and this morning stated court proceedings will be taken, under pre action protocol, and that their letter is in accordance with the PracticeDirection on Pre-Action Conduct. (PDPAC). I am unsure what all this means.
