Two years SOPO but indefinitely on the register?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
That's what they say..
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No i had to attend Probation every week for 2 years..The SOPO is stopping me from working or seeing my children...
And i'm on the register...At the time i'd have said anything to get out of the police station, as the anxiety got the better of me due to the PTSD..

Are you asking if you can be removed from the register?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.

There is no way of removing yourself from the register I'm afraid unless Parliament abolishes the register.

Addition onto the register follows conviction as night follows day. Courts have no discretion on the point.

The SOPO is an order that is within the court's discretion though and you can apply for removal or variation of that. You do have to show more than that it is interfering with your capacity to see your children though. You will have to satisfy the court that the public can be protected in another way or that the order or it's conditions are not necessary to protect the public.

Can I clarify anything for you?
