Customer Question

We are a builder and repaired a roof. On 5 August 2008 there was a leak into the flat during a storm. The client considered the water damage was our responsibility. The client made a claim of 18500.00 for damage to his flat and his insurance company paid up. On 27 January 2009 and 23 November 2010 the insurance company wrote holding us liable. The client has withheld 18500.00 from our account.

Has this been ongoing for the last 7 years.

If his insurer paid up why is he holding your money?

Is the insurance co not chasing you?

It seems that the client is £18k better off!

What do you want to achieve?

As much background detail as possible is really useful.

Thanks
