My car was taken by bailiffs parking tickets with my laundry

Customer Question

Hi my car was taken by bailiffs for unpaid parking tickets with my laundry including the kids bedding, towels and clothes inside. When I contacted them To get the clothes back they refused to let me collect them unless I handed over my car keys. I had no notice or clamp on my car prior to this being taken and the parking fines go back to 2012, did the bailiffs act in accordance with the law?

Were you given the option to pay before removing the car?
