Hi

Thank you for your question and welcome to Just Answer. I will try to help with this. Please RATE my answer OK SERVICE or above.

Prisons will supply clothing but you would be more comfortable in your own. Do not use black clothing as prisons will not allow it to prevent impersonation of prison staff.

If you smoke you need you will need to take tobacco products. They must be unopened. Disposable lighters will be fine but matches will not be allowed.

You will need to take money to buy toiletries and phone credit.

Reading material is fine. Also take stamps and writing pads. Boredom is a killer in prison.

You can take photographs of family but do not display them in your cells for safety reasons.

You can take a small battery powered radio and spare batteries.

Please rate my answer with OK SERVICE or more and then I will continue for free.

Just wondering how everything is going?

Do you need any more help?

Customer: replied 12 months ago.

Just wanna know what to expect when I go to Court on Tuesday for sentencing. I have been charged with theft from a vulnerable man used his credit card and obtained approx £2000. My solicitor has said that it could be max sentence of imprisonment of 6 months my probation officer suggested max 1 year which is it likely to be? does the fact that a pleaded guilty and that im a 50 year old and its my first offence not count for nothing ? Could it not b a suspended sentence?

Expert:  Jomo1972 replied 12 months ago.

If this is at the Magistrates Court then the maximum sentence is 6 months unless they send it up to the Crown.

Actually the guidelines do say the maximum sentence is 26 weeks although those are just guidelines rather than tramlines.

The Court is not going to like the fact that you acted in breach of trust and stole from a vulnerable person. This may be a very large sum to a vulnerable person.

It could be a suspended sentence but I would brace yourself for custody I'm afraid.

The fact of your previous good character will be considered but this is an offence with aggravating features I'm afraid.
