Is the child of a mother who is a British citizen other than by descent and who resides now in Greece and holds a Greek passport as well as her British one, automatically granted British citizenship when born in Greece? The father is Greek. The child is due at the beginning of April. Future Grandmother(British by Birth)

My daughter was adopted at the age of 3 months in 1971.She was brought up in Greece but came to England to university and worked here long enough to acquire British citizanship. She now is married and resident in Greece.All we need is information.

The short answer to your question is yes the child will obtain UK Nationality if at least one of the parents has obtained UK Nationality other than by descent.
Once the child is born, the parents can apply to the UK Embassy in their country of residence for a UK Passport.
