If I design a course and write out and copyright most of its wriTten content. Do I actually own the course or does the special interest group into which graduates of the course can optionally become members have claim if the course has been bannered to them?
Hi,Thank you for yor question. This is something I deal with on a day to day basis, as I am an in-house lawyer at a University, so am more than happy to assist.Copyright ownership is normally vested in the the author or any person/company whom have commissioned the works. If you are writing the course after being paid a fee to do so, the company/person who pays the fee will own the copyright. If, however, there is no employer/ company or thord party whom have commissioned the works, then the ownership of the copyright will vest in you, as the author.I hope this helps.
