i have been asked to attend court re a speeding ticket. i honestly can't remember who was driving the car at the time and evidence does not prove who was driving. what rights do i have ?
Dear XXXXX,
When a camera picks up a speeding vehicle, there is a presumption that the registered keeper is the driver. It is for you to rebut that presumption if you can. If you cannot, for whatever reason, then I'm afraid that you are unable to avoid liability for payment.
You would be wise to pay the fixed penalty as if the matter goes to Court it will cost you more.
