what was the mistake?

Hi I applied for my Tier 4 visa. Basically, everything in my application is fine except that I made a misleading statement in my previous travel in the UK. Basically, in my application I have stated the "PURPOSE OF THE TRIP" in the UK during May 2014 - August 2014 as "VOLUNTEER RESEARCH ASSISTANT AT OXFORD UNIVERSITY". I just realized that this statement sounds highly misleading and ambiguous in the sense that it can be interpreted as if I did an unpaid work in the UK during my trip which is not allowed in the UK. How would the ECO interpret this?
