Entry into the UK under an EEA Family Permit.

Customer Question

I want to apply for entry into the UK under an EEA Family Permit. My boyfriend is Italian and currently working in London since last July. I am an American citizen looking to move there to live with him. I meet all the qualifications except for one that I am unsure about. The UKBA site says you must be living together in a relationship akin to marriage. Does this mean COHABITATING? Or living in a serious relationship for more than 2 years? My boyfriend and I have been in a relationship for the past 3 years and have facebook history, diaries, plane tickets, one room hotel reservations, etc. that can prove the validity (and lack of convenience) of our relationship, we've just never lived in the same house (or same country). Can this visa work for me?

I am happy to deal with your UK immigration law issues.

I am afraid you need to have been living together/cohabiting for 2 years or more, you would therefore not be eligible, unless you get married.
