I CAME FROM INDIA IN 1977 ON INDIAN PASSPORT WHICH EXPIRED

Resolved Question:

I CAME FROM INDIA IN 1977 ON INDIAN PASSPORT WHICH EXPIRED IN 1982. I WAS GRANTED INDEFINITE PERIOD TO LEAVE IN THE UK IN 1979. SINCE 1979 I WAS INVOLVED IN MY BUISNESS UP TO THIS TIME, SO I HAVE NEVER BEEN OUT OF THIS COUNTRY SINCE MY ARRIVAL IN THIS COUNTRY IN 1977.AS I NEVER INTENDED TO TRAVEL WHILE I WAS ACTIVE IN MY BUSINESS. I NEVER RENEWED MY PASSPORT SO I HAVE A PASSPORT WHICH HAS EXPIRED OVER 29 YEARS. I AM A INCOMETAX PAYER, HAVE A MORTGAGE, HOLD FULL DRIVING LICENCE NOW I HAVE DECIDED TO APPLY FOR BRITISH CITIZENSHIP. DO I HAVE TO RENEW MY OLD PASSPORT ( INDIAN} OR IT DONT MATTER.

Hello,

You do not need to renew your expired Indian passport but it would help if you hold other means of photo identification such as a UK photo driving licence.

You will need to apply for naturalisation as a British Citizen.

Good luck
