my italian mother lived in the UK for 40 years (from age 25 to age 65) before returning to Italy. She never took british citizinship. She was married to my English father (who died 10 years ago).

She is wondering if she entitled to be buried in the UK alongside her husband if she doesn't have UK citizinship?

Thank You

Thanks for your question.

Your mother does not need to be a UK Citizen to be buried in the UK. As an EU National, she would have been allowed to travel freely to and from the UK as well as reside in the UK.

If your mothers wish was to be buried in the UK, this could be carried out.
