Customer Question

Hi, I am having the usual glow plug flashing at me, we had 3 months ago wrapped foil around the Electric Vane Actuator, could it be that? or more likely the EGR Valve.

Hi there Richard good morning to you

Ok an EGR issue on the 2.2 (electronic EGR valve ) wouldn't cause the glow plug light to flash (only the engine management light would illuminate and stay on )

Before ore going any further Richard you must have a diagnostic fault code check done to clarify what code is logged due to the glow plug light flashing as there is many different sub systems which can cause this therefore I cannot stress how important the correct fault code is

The most common faults we see Richard are faulty turbo actuators of fuel metering concerns

Turbo actuator (electronic ) issues commonly log the P132b fault code (this can be down to an actuator fault or sometimes sticking turbo vanes caused by carbon build up

The fuel metering issues we see can be caused blocked fuel filters or excessively worn fuel injectors causing excess leak off thus impacting the desired fuel pressure as if the fuel pressure deviates + or - 50 bar of the target value limp home mode is brought on

If you need anymore help or advice on this issue richard please let me know

Even after you get the code I can still assist you further

If you are Completely satisfied with my answer /advice

Kind regards ***** ***** and have a nice day

Brian
