Ford Focus Zetec: Bil, my 1.6 Focus Zetec 09 keeps randomly

Customer Question

Hi Bil, my 1.6 Focus Zetec 09 keeps randomly cutting out, sometimes lots, sometimes not all day? Always starts again but is becoming annoying! Had it checked an he said code P2135 Throttle Body? But might not fix it? £400 would want to know it's going to be fixed!! Not sure what to do?

Hi there good afternoon to you and sorry for the delayed response
Ok the dtc p2135 relates to a correlation fault within the throttle body
As the throttle body's are expensive I always advise fitting a TPS (throttle postion sensor ) and monitoring the fault
This screws to the side of the throttle and contains the electrical Throttle Position Sensors which are where most commonly the issue lies with with a correlation fault (mismatch In the signals
In very rare cases the issue can be wiring buts it's more commonly a TPS issue
This TPS sensor required is ford part number(###) ###-####- £45.51+ vat
You will also need 4xscrews - 4 x(###) ###-####-£0.93+ vat each
I would advise carrying out this repair first as it's the TPS sensor with caused is the most issues
NOTE: if any of the screws break you need to fit a new throttle body (these screws have locite on the threads and can seize into the alloy throttle body and break )
If you need anymore help or advice on this issue please let me know

Kind regards ***** ***** and have a nice day
Brian
