Pedal is soft and light
Expert:  Gallagher99 replied 1 year ago.
Hi there thanks
Ok if the pedal is soft/light you most likely have a hydraulic issue or more commonly in the Ka low brake /clutch fluid level
The ka was prone to the pipe coming off the brake fluid resivoir seeping fluid over time causing a drop in fluid
The first check would be to inspect the fluid level if the fluid level is low visually check for leaks at at pipes and at the bottom of the gearbox incase the slave cylinder is leaking internally (drips of brake fluid at bottom of gearbox )
If no leaks are present then it will be a clutch spring /pressure plate issue with the clutch itself
In this case the gearbox needs to be removed and the clutch plate inspected for most commonly broken springs on the clutch disc
