I have a ford Galaxy 2006 mk3 model. I have had recently the EGR & DPF replaced and the car is still going into limp mode. Garage thinks its something to do with a pipe from the turbo, is this likely?

Hi there , good evening to you Ok do you know which diagnostic fault code keeps returning as the is an important part of the correct diagnosis Was it a complete DPF assembly that was replaced Regards XX XXXXXXX Brian
Hi Brian,I cant remember what the code was but before the dpf was changed the code that came up was indicating soot accumalation, we then put some dpf cleaner thru the system and did a manual regen. when you say complete dpf can you explain what you mean by this please.
Hi there , sorry for the delay Ok the full DPF is the exhaust part (as this system also has pipes and a sensor attached (these pipes must be intact )Once the DPF has been replaced the learned values MUST be reset through fords ids laptop As it will not regenerate correctly as it thinks the DPF is still full Using Ids the technician can check how full the DPF is And also when the last regeneration took place (ash acummlation ) These Vehicles need to see a few good clear runs in order for the dpf to function correctly The EGR valve must also be reset /programmed throughIds in order for it to operate correctly If the EGR isn't set correctly it could be staying open etc This can cause heavy door accumulation Also ANY air leaks on the induction side can cause issues Also everytime DPF issues arise the PCM should be updated to the latest level again using fords ids Oil dilution can also take place (diesel in the oil from failed regenerations ) If you need anymore help or advice on this issue please let me know If you are completley satisfied with my answer /advice PLEASE RATE MY ANSWER Kind regards XX XXXXXXX and have a nice evening Brian
Hi Brian, As there is not a ford dealer in my area, a local garage who are experts in every brand and are the largest independant repairers and engineers in the town, these guys have carried out the work, the software they use i believe is Snooper BT from Wurth.Since the DPF was replaced the car has travelled 800+ miles. (6days). The garage is of the opinion that the pipe from the Turbo could be the fault.I am at a loss as to what the heck is going on.
Hi there thanks for replying Ok the software we use in fords ids laptop has to be downloaded /delivered from ford Even the best diagnostic equipment won't have the service reset functions that Ids has We have had several customers book there car in for eg running rough /smoking AFTER the EGR valve was replaced This was due to it not being reset I would personally advise having the values reset using fords ids software (service functions ) As if this isn't carried out then the system becomes confused especially the DPF system If you need anymore help or advice on this issue please let me know If you are completley satisfied with my answer /advice PLEASE RATE MY ANSWER Kind regards XX XXXXXXX and have a nice evening Brian
Hi codes coming up as p244b and p2436. The car has been on ford Ids to have the correct values set but still got the same problem.
Hi there thanks for replying Ok let me look further into this issue regarding your codes and get back to you Has the pipes and sensor been checked on the DPF system Regards. Brian
