Customer Question

Dear Sir,
I own a Ka (reg.DN 08 GWP) and recently the rear oval plastic name film came off and I placed it back on again, but I should have used superglue so it must have blown off again.
My local main dealer can only suggest a new name plate in a metal frame(£12.85) and scrape off the blue plastic film and mount it onto the vacant space. Is this the only solution? Can Ford supply the correct plastic film?
Now I have become aware of this problem I have noticed about 8 Ka's with the same defect in this area (Loughborough) and a bigger Ford model of about the same age.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Hi there good afternoon to you

Ok this is a pretty common fault on most ford vehicles
Ford suspect it is caused by air contamination (salt etc ) when the vehicles are being shipped (these badges have a one year warranty on them) And should be inspected in the first year for any bubbling or blistering /or discolouration

The only way to resolve this issue is to fit a new badge
these badges come from the factory ready to stick on (the heavy duty tape is already fitted to the badge do you just need to stick it on

If you need anymore help or advice on this issue please let me know

Thank you for your reply. I went again to the main dealer but they were
adamant that they were unable to get a replacement piece of blue plastic
film to go on the rear badge position, and I had to buy a new badge in an
oval frame which it did'nt have before, I have stuck it on and hoping it
will stay on as it is on the raised lettering of the original. It seems the
best option. Incidentally the price had gone up from £12.85 a couple of
weeks ago to £13.24. Did you ever feel you can't win ?
Best wishes,Ron

Hi there Ron , good evening to you

As I mentioned replacing the badge is the only way to resolve this
The adhesive tape used is strong so the badge won't come off

If you need anymore help or advice on this issue Ron please let me know
