Hi, I have a 2006 mk3 mondeo st tdci..rough..misfiring..smooth

Resolved Question:

Hi, I have a 2006 Mk3 Mondeo ST TDCi with the 2.2 litre engine. It has, for a long time, had a terrible rough spot in the engine revs at around 1200rpm, it feels like it's misfiring and lurches along the road if I maintain 1200rpm. It idles fine and all other revs are smooth. I've heard this is common and that there is a software update that fixes it. Is this true?

thanks

Graham

Hi there , graham , good afternoon to you

Ok yes there is a software update available for the 2.2 TDCI regarding hesitations
This can only be done through fords ids laptop
Also when this is done the injector correction factors are reset as this also helps drivability

Other issues which can also cause intermitent hesitations are clogged /sticking EGR valves ( very common on the 2.2 TDCI ) and a torn /split intercooler hose (the Ine that runs off the EGR valve )

Small splits /tears on this hose can cause hesitation/jerk concerns as well at certain revs
