Hi there wayne , Ok just a few questions first
does the vehicle lack power ?
is ther a whoosing noise when you accelerate ?
is it a bad leak or more of a sweaty leak ?
it does lack power, and there is a whoosing noise, but its not a bad leak, its like you said more of a sweaty leak.
Hi there wayne , Ok the fault will most likely lie with a split intercooler hose ( common fault ) there are 2 of these hoses connected to the intercooler one either side ( they have metal rings on them ) corregated , these usally spilt at the rings ,
this is a 2 minute job to change these hoses ( 2 hose clips )
It could also be a split weld or seam at the intercooler assembly ( more rare )
this to is a 2 minute job to do and is only held on by 4 x 8mm bolts and 1 multiplug
to test this fault wayne remove the intercooler cover/trim ( 2 x phillips screws )
and then get another person to rev the vehicle hard as to bring the turbo in ( about 2500-3000 rpm ) in short blips and then listen and feel around the intercooler hoses and intercooler assembly for bursts of air , this is usally easier to find using your hand as you will feel the air shooting from the leak ,

could this problem fail an m.o.t which is due at end of month
Hi there wayne , Ok this fault wont fail an MOT as long as it doesnt affect the emmissions or is spraying oil every where ,
if it is just the hose that is split they are not expensive mabye around 20 pounds
the intercooler is a bit more expensive

Hi there wayne , When you say there is no hot or cold air do you mean that there is no air at all coming from the vents ,
if so does the blower motor work on any speed at all eg,, only speed 4
Hi there wayne , Ok the fault will lie with the blower motor itself ,
normally if the blower motor only works on speed 4 it is the heater resistor that is faulty ,
but as yours isnt working on any speed i would suspect the blower motor
this has only 2 wires going to it a 12volt feed and an earth ,
if the wiring is ok the motor will be at fault internally

Hi there wayne , ok i dont know the exact price of a new one but you can pick one up second hand or a breakers yard for about 20 - 30 pounds ,
i think a new one would be around 80 - 100 pounds , that is an educated guess
