You should arrange to have your Transit connected to a suitable diagnostic machine to check this fault out properly - that will pin point the fault for you directly..

A lot of smaller garages have these machines and can do this for you . Or you could employ the Aa or Rac if you "subscribe" , they have the equipment too - or, employ a suitably equipped mobile mechanic to come to you and test as above..

I can tell you that the most likely fault is a failed APP.. this is the Accelerator pedal sensor - and it comes as a complete replacement pedal unit from Ford dealer parts dept.

Its easy to fit - you will see once you see it .. you an do it yourself...

As I say though, you should really have it diagnosed on a machine as above ....but Ive told you that in case you just want to " go for it"...
