Customer Question

I am not yet divorced from my estranged husband. We have been separated for almost 4 years. We do not have a formal arrangement in place in respect of contact between him and our 11yrs old daughter. I have usually been able to work with his ad hoc request for contact.
However I am currently dealing with a tricky situation. He has invited out daughter to his new partner and his 3yrold birthday party. My daughter does not wish to attend, she would rather spend time with them during the Easter vacation.
He is not happy with this and feels he can force her to attend. What can I do?

Can she not do both?

What is her objection to the party?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
whoops I did not see this reply. She could have done both, she had already made plans with a friend.
The event has now passed, she now regrets not going because her father has since, spoken with her and made her feel quite guilty for not attending.
This is the first time she has objected to going to her fathers home, I have always encouraged her to visit, despite my initial concerns at first.
