Hi Claire
My ex is so desparate to settle he has come up with a better offer. I have not accepted it but thinking about it. I asked my solicitor if I did decide to settle is it too late to stop court proceedings he said it is because Form E is due to be in on 14th August. Is that right? So do we go to court and then our solicitors will talk about settling? What actually happens in first court session?
Thank you for your question.
You can settle at any moment up to the door of the court - or after and if you settle then the matter can be dealt with by with Consent Order before the hearing date.
However there is no refund of the court fee sadly!
