I read that Civil Service pensions (certainly the non-contributory bit) do not come under pension sharing in divorce. Is that correct? If I can't share my husband's Civil Service pension, can he unilaterally share mine in any agreement? Neither of us is yet retired and my pension is occupational final salary. Thank you
Thank you for your question I shall do my best to help you
I am not sure where you read this but it is not correct - Civil Service pensions are fully available for Pension Sharing Orders and the two pensions - yours and his can be set against each other and the appropriate order made in order to create a fair balance.
I hope that this is of assistance - please ask if you need further details
