Can I appeal? I have not been paid sick pay. I was off work

Customer Question

Can I appeal? I have not been paid sick pay. I was off work due to a injury at work, should I be speaking to a lawyer so I can claim?

I was off for four weeks as I hurt myself at work lifting. I stayed in hospital overnight the doctor adviced me to rest for 6 weeks and told me I cant go back to work until I was fully recovered. I didn't take the full 6 six weeks as I felt better so went back to work. It came to payday and when I checked my bank I was not paid my sick pay. I spoke to my supervisor and she told me the HR managers didn't want to pay me because they thought I didn't deserve it as I was just sitting at me home. I followed company polices and procedures so it's only fair I get what's rightfully mine, and bear in mind I didn't choose to sit at home, if I didnt hurt myself at work I wouldn't be going through all the trouble to begin with.
