Customer Question

I work for a Local Authority and following an interview I have been told I am to be made redundant after nearly 15 years. I have my redundancy figures and as I am over 55 have a small pension entitlement as well. I have been given 12 weeks notice to end back end of January next year. However, I am feeling that I do not want to stay now and to ask the G.P for a fitness note. What would be the consequences of this ? Thanks Nev.
