my employment contract was drawn up by my previose company that was taken over as an aquisition store, the employers were taken on with exsistincontracts staus and same rate of pay,we were asked to sign new contracts with the new company but told we could if we chose stay on our present contract, since then i have been told that the company has put me on their contract without discussing it with me and without my signiture is this legal

You cannot be forced to accept the new terms of employment, it must be done with your consent, and the answer to your question is, no, it is not lawful.
