Customer Question

When attempting to record from sky we get no sound on the recordings. We think this is something possibly to do with the av setting. Have attempted a reset to factory defaults but no success. This is something which began after dropping the TV remote on the floor. The TV is Samsung. The TV remote is rarely used, with everything normally controlled by the the Sky & DVD remotes. Any thoughts?

Optional Information:
Make: Panasonic
Model: DMR-EX769EB

Already Tried:
Complete shut down of TV Sky box & DVD followed by restart. Changing settings in Options to select AV2 & AV1 Reset DVD to factory defaults

Hello
Welcome
Thanks for the Question

Just a few info requests please

What lead are you using to record from sky to the DVD recorder ie scart/hdmi?

Do you have an aerial?if you record from the aerial is that recording OK?

Anthony

All units (TV , Sky box & DVD) are connected by Scart. In addition there is an HDMI from DVD to TV. I don't know which carries the relevant signal but when selecting source the HDMI does not give a picture on the TV, AV2 does.

There is no aerial just a dish.

Other than the "dropped TV remote" and possibly some fiddling with set up afterwards, the whole set up was working fine previously. Cabling is exactly as per the Panasonic manual.

Hi

Sometimes with scart you have to push the plugs home really well for them to make good contact please try that and also replace the scart lead the one that goes from the box to the DVD

Let me know

Ok, looks like we are in business. I pushed all the Scarts firmly home. As a result we got sound on pause live tv. I have just unscrambled all the changes made to the AV & External link settings and it looks like the recordings from the the Sky planner are now working.

This got the job done. Where to I rate the response?
