I just got a BD-E8900A. We have an indoor digital antenna with a powered amplifier (gain to 18db). However, there is no signal. The Samsung TV has a perfect picture. The old LG DVD hard drive recorder also has a good picture. The 8900 indicates its a weak or no signal. Help!
Optional Information: Make: Samsung Model: BD-E8900A Already Tried: moving the antenna around the room. Switching off its power, etc
I'm looking at your manual right now, and I noticed something interesting --
I don't know if your Weak/No signal issue only shows up if you're trying to playback a DVD on Channel 3, but I would definitely test your new unit by connecting a Video Cable to your TV from the BD-E8900 and see if --
Your DVDs play back fine, and you see your TV channels on the Video cable too.
If you still get a Weak/No Signal on your Video cable, then the Tuner inside your new player is faulty. Under those circumstances, exchanging it at the store you purchased it from would be the best remedy in your situation.
So, give that a try and see if you do get your TV stations from your recorder.
Also, when you first turned it on and it did it's intial setup before autoscanning your channels in, did it ask you what country you are in? If so, was it set to Australia?
