Hi and welcome to Just Answer. My name is XXXXX XXXXX will be assisting you today. I have several years of Professional Training and Hands On Experience under my belt and am dedicated to giving you the best Answer possible for your situation.

Here's how this works: We will go back and forth exchanging information about your problem until a proper diagnoses can be made. There is no extra charge for replying. In the rare case that your problem simply just can't be fixed, I will provide you with all of your options on how to move forward. Please remember that there isn't always a magic fix and that I am only compensated for my time helping you when you indicate that your satisfied with my efforts. Even after you've indicated that I've helped you, the question is never closed and I am available for follow up replies at anytime.

I get asked this question a lot. The reason why it's not in the Manual is because it's not an option. The way the data is recorded and stored to the drive is by using special file systems that is not usable on any other device except for the Freesat Recorder due to copyright laws. Hope this helps and please remember to indicate that I have helped you today.

So if it not possible? why does it say you can store photos to it,it even has a tab for your photo`s? and if they are mine I do not need copyright?

What exactly says that you can store photo's to it? The Freesat Box or the External Hard Drive?

Customer replied 333 days and 20 hours ago.

Page 11. 4. Manual for the Foxsat -HDR connecting external devices: the connected device will appear : and it does and says they are the wrong file format?

11.4 photo : with the media list on the screen press BLUE button to select PHOTO a list of the jpeg photos will appear??

If file transfer is not allowed then why does it have external device connections??

What all do you have on that Device? Some of them may say that, but the .jpg's should work fine.

Customer replied 333 days and 19 hours ago.

It`s 1.5 terrabyte portable hard drive: to enable me to back up and store documents/photo`s and free up space on the computer.

When this device is connected it just says they are wrong format, so what is the right format? and if it will not accept the external drive how am I supposed to download them.

On page 11. 3 Media list is says: you can delete files or copy files to/from external devices??? which you said was not possible???

The easiest way to correct this is to get a cheap 8GB USB Flash Drive and use it solely for just this purpose. The Computer's Backed up files are flagging the device as non compatible. Give it a shot and let me know how it goes.
