ElectronicsPete :

Hello,

ElectronicsPete :

What is the model number of your Grundig Freesat box?
How old is it?

Customer :

Model number GUFSDTR500HD

Customer :

Bought at Christmas it was an upgrade with no guarantees.

Customer :

sent the info you required and still not heard if you can give me a answer or

Customer :

not

ElectronicsPete : First, you can try a reset by powering the box off and disconnecting it from the wall for 15 minutes.
ElectronicsPete : Then try turning it on again.
ElectronicsPete : If the blue light still does not come on, then the box has a fault.
ElectronicsPete : If it was bought new at Christmas then it should still be covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
Customer :

That's not a expert answer most people now that's what you do with electronics.

Customer :

I already told you it was not under warranty that's why I asked a expert to tell me what the fault was.

Customer :

If this is not in your expertise please say so as I am not happy with your answer.

ElectronicsPete :

Is there a reason why the box is not under warranty, as these boxes come with a standard 12 month warranty from Grundig?

ElectronicsPete :

Have you already performed the reset by disconnecting the box from the mains power supply?

ElectronicsPete :

If you have, and it still does not come on, then it has a fault.

ElectronicsPete :

If you don't have a valid warranty, but you still want it fixed, then you have two options:
1. Take it to a local electronics repair shop and have them repair it for you (cost around £50-100)
2. If you have experience in electronic repairs, and the necessary test equipment, tools and schematics, you can test the internal circuits to try and locate the fault and replace any faulty components.
