JA: Have your brakes ever been replaced? Have you checked the brake fluid?
Customer: not by me
JA: What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: I had to call a mechanic out to me and he removed the chip underneath the car to release the parking brake. bmw x6 2008
JA: Are you fixing your X6 yourself? What have you tried so far?

Hi Im David, if he removed a clip underneath the car then your parking brake will never work until its reinstalled. you may need new cables or new engagement springs and levers. theres nothing i can do for you on here. take it back to the mechanic and have him repair the parking brake system.

do you still need assistance?

I also agree, with parts removed, there is little we can do remotely to assist you, generally things do not work with bits missing.

I also strongly advise you reconnect with the mechanic and have the system repaired and returned to normal operation, both from a legal and a safety point of view.

Sorry I can not help you on this occasion.
