Hi Im David, please alow me a few moments to look up some information for you. thanks
ok. you need to check the voltage at the glow plugs. make sure your battery is fully charged to 12.5 volts. access the glow plugs. pull the connector off each plug and check for 12.5 vdc at each plug. if all good, then remove each plug and check the resistance of each glow plug eack plug needs to read about 1.0 ohms or less.
i understand what the troublecodes mean. did this problem just occur out of the blue?
ok. let me see if there is a immo rest for you. please allow me a few moments.
did you notice the dsc light on at anytime prior to this issue?
what is the voltage reading at the battery?
what is the voltage reading?
ok... good. what does it drop to when trying to start?
let me think about this a minute
the problem with immo is there are alot of things that affect it but only thing that keep it from leeting the vehicle start. im digging into to my manuals and history to find the most likely areas for you.
try reprogramming the fob
Reprogramming an X-Type Key Fob.Step 1Open the driver side door.Step 2Turn the ignition switch to the ‘auxiliary’ position, then turn the ignition switch to the ‘ON’ position and back to the ‘auxiliary’ position four times. *This must be done fairly quickly. If you have done it correctly, you will hear a chime come from the GEM*Step 3Turn the ignition switch to ‘OFF’ position.Step 4Remove the key from the ignition.Step 5To program the transmitter, press any key within ten seconds. **If it worked, you should hear another chime come from the GEM**Step 6Close the door.
I know its for remote programming. but sometimes it does the trick. im going to opt out and let another tech chime in. good day.
So right now the engine is cranking strong but not starting? What does the red security light on the console do when you turn the ignition ON without starting the vehicle?
On all the time, on for about 5 seconds then goes off, or on and blinking rapidly? Please confirm this as it is important in diagnosing the issue.
Ok this means the security system sees a correct key code and allowing starting. We may have a fueling problem. Could be the in tank lift pump not supplying fuel to the injector pump. Since the fuel system is very high pressure we would need the compatible scan tool to monitor the fuel rail pressure to confirm the fuel system is operating. Let me know.
It actually uses a transfer pump integral in the high pressure pump for the low pressure.
No it is on the engine on the injector pump. We need the scan tool to monitor the fuel rail pressure value when cranking
The fuel pump would be a costly repair which is why the diagnosis needs to be done.
