It started idling rough this morning, after the engine light

Customer Question

It started idling rough this morning, after the engine light turned on about 2 weeks ago. I stopped at O'Reillys and had them hook up and check my car out. I also by the way smelled a burning smell this morning about the time that it stated idelling rough. The codes that came up during the check were as follows: p2187 (bank1 lean @ idle); p2189 (bank 2 lean @ idle); p0300 (random cylinder); p0304 (cylinder 4): p0306 (cylinder 6); p0302 (cylinder 2).
JA: Is the rough idle intermittent or consistent?
Customer: more intermittent
JA: What is the model/year of your Porsche?
Customer: 2006 Cayenne S
JA: Are you fixing your Cayenne yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes, but have only just started.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Cant think of any thing.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If only one bank was setting a lean code then I'd suspect an inaccurate upstream oxygen sensor causing that bank to run lean but you have a lean code for both banks. You could have low fuel pressure, a vacuum leak, or an inaccurate mass airflow sensor causing this, or it's possible that both upstream sensors are bad.

Does it run fine when first started?

it seems to.

but either latter today, or tomorrow, would be better to talk over phone.

I'm not able to talk on the phone.

Can you try unplugging the upstream oxygen sensors, disconnect the battery to clear the adaptives, and see if it runs fine with the sensors unplugged?
