JA: How old is the battery? And have you tested it with a voltmeter?
Customer: No idea how old the battery is. I`ve only just bought the car
JA: What is the model/year of your Ford?

JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No I am not mechanically minded at all
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?

Hi, my name is ***** ***** I will assist you. Do you have access to a volt meter to check the alternator? If so, I will tell you how to do it (it is very simple)

Expert:  Joshua Haynes replied 2 months ago.

another important thing to check is the battery connections. If they are loose or corroded then the alternator may be fine but can't charge it and the electricity in the battery won't be able to be transferred to the starter to start the car.
