I have 02 325i petrol it has fault code p161 stuck throttle valve where is it
JA: Has the vehicle turned into a gas hog? And how does it start -- same as usual?
Customer: it runs and starts beautifulk
JA: What is the model/year of your BMW?
Customer: 2002 e46
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I wilt myself forgot to mention it doesn't accelerate very well
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?

Hi good morning .

Do you have just the one malfunction code P0161 or any other ,

What i suggest you do first before replacing the Throttle body is to remove and clean as in most cases its just built up carbon that is restricting the movement of the throttle plate .

Disconnect the negative cable on the battery before starting to work on the throttle body .
