I have a grand voguer 2.8 Limited CRD auto.2005 Yesterday

Customer Question

I have a grand voguer 2.8 Limited CRD auto.2005
Yesterday the alarm activated? on checking was unable to see anything, checked all doors and windows, bonnet etc, locked the vehicle using the fob, all locked and seemed OK.
Went about business all day, locked again using fob.
Little while after alarm activated? No warning lights on dash.
Unlocked using fob, checked still see nothing checked inside nothing hanging down to set sensors off, would not lock from fob, changed battery in fob nothing, checked with spare fob nothing, car locked with key.
Opened car to check starting, started and ran for few moments then cut out, same with 2nd key?
Now nothing, but no light on dash, no key warning?
Advice please.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

It sounds as if you may have a wireless control module issue. The WCM is the module that validates the transponder in the key to allow the engine to start and run and it's also the keyless entry receiver.

An internal issue in the body control module is also a likely cause for at east part of the symptoms.

Are you positive what you hear was the alarm rather than the panic function? Were the headlamps flashing along with the horn honking once per second? Panic is twice per second.

Hi, is was not the horn, the lights did not flash, that is no lights flashed no hazards or headlights.

What specifically did you see and hear that you thought was the alarm?

Have sorted it now, after a load of reading and conversation.
Thank you
