Jake I have a situation wioth my 2000 reg polo 1.4 16valve

Customer Question

Hi Jake
I have a situation wioth my 2000 reg polo 1.4 16valve petrol.
problem is that the engine is bad to start but when it does the oil pressure light flashes and the rev counter wont work.
This started as an intermittent fault when the car was being driven and I found that to coast for a second and switch of the ignition then resart the engine it cleared the problem.
Oil level is good and the engine runs well once started.
Any ideas?
Tom

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

It's unlikely that the oil light and starting issue are related. If the oil is full and there are no abnormal engine noise then odds are the oil light is coming on because of a failed oil sender.

Have you checked for fault codes?
