Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If the engine died, now won't crank and the immobilizer light is staying on with the key on this all points to the engine controller not being awake. The ECM may have lost a power or ground feed or it may have failed internally.

The first thing you'll want to do is check fuses. If ok ten the next step would be to use a scan tool to see if the ECM will communicate, odds are it will not. If not then the ECM powers and grounds will need to be tested before condemning it.
