Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

You may have a handful of things going on. If the noises only happens on AM or FM radio then it could be an antenna issue. It could be an internal failure of the radio or if you have the optional amplifier then the problem may be in the amp. The amp would be the most likely cause for the noise if it happens any time.

Does the radio operate normally and the issue is just with sound?

Will it happen when using any mode or is it just AM or FM?
