Customer Question

I have a Nissan micro y ref it has front cv gaiters perishing what does that mean

Hi there good morning to you and sorry for the delayed response

Ok persisted cv gaiter means that the rubber gaiter that protects the cv joints (keeps the grease inside ) has perished (become worn and the rubber is starting to perish /degrad which in time will eventually rip and allow the cv joint Grease to escape which can lead to a dry cv joint which in turn can start to wear and knock

This type of fault is put down as an advisory (keep an eye on it )

Also if the gator splits it is an mot failure so it would be better to get them done in the near future
