1.8 tddi van: ford focus airbag code b1993 driver side side

Customer Question

ford focus airbag code b1993 driver side side mount airbag short to ground any idea what fault is ?

Hello, my name is***** code means drivers side airbag is shorted to ground which is usually caused by clockspring or airbag itself. Since you already replaced the airbag next step is to use multimeter to see if clockspring is shorted or any other wiring then replace as neeed. Let me know how it goes or if you have more questions, thanks.

When i plug out driver airbag i get different code i also replaced clock spring. Would it be side impact crash sensor?
Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
No it wouldn't be the crash sensor. It can only be drivers air bag clock spring, wiring, or airbag module. So next step is checking wiring between airbag module and clocksring, if good replace the module. Let me know how it goes or if you have more questions, thanks.

Have you seen this code before and what was problem?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I also had code b2477 module configuration failure but code cleared out
Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
Usually when this code comes up problem is clockspring or airbag. B2477 points toward module failing too. Let me now if you have more questions, thanks.

Driver airbag resistance is ok though .. The internal backup supply voltage in airbag ecu is 22 that normal?
Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
Voltage shouldn't be over system voltage which would be around 12-13v. If resistance between airbag and module is good proving out wiring then I'd go ahead and replace the module. Let me know how it goes thanks.
