I have a peugeot 307, 1.6, 2005. There is oil leaking

Customer Question

Hello. I have a peugeot 307, 1.6, 2005. There is oil leaking from the pipe and I'm taking car to the garage asap. However, when I've checked the oil level - the dipstick is completely dry with only few drops of oil. I don't know what kind of oil was before - is it ok if I fill my car with any oil I buy from the shop?

Hi..there apologies for the delay..
You dont mention whether its a Petrol or Diesel as they use differing oil's - Id say as tempoary measure to get it a garage 10w/40 oil for which ever fuel type engine you have should be fine..as long as you mention to the garage once they have rectifed the leak..you have the Oil & Oil Filter changed at the same time..I do hope this helps
