Vectra: i have a 2008 vectra 1.9cdti 120bp that started

Hi i have a 2008 vectra 1.9cdti 120bp that started smoking after 10 mins of driving which will stop after turning ignition off and then straight back on again but will start smoking about 10 mins later. Have had on diagnostic machine which said throttle actuator not working i have changed full throttle body but still doing it . I have sonce noticed that the temp gauge drops to nothing while smoking but sits at normal while not . Any info would be appreciated thanks

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!
If the temperature gauge drops when the smoke happens then I would first suspect a coolant sensor related issue. Coolant temperature is a factor in how much fuel is injected and if the signal is abnormally cold then the engine is going to run rich.
The first thing I would recommend is looking at the coolant temperature sensor signal when this happens. If it's incorrectly low then the sensor wiring will need to be tested and if ok then the sensor can be condemned.
