Peugeot 307CC: . I have a 307cc (56 plate) with a 1997cc

Customer Question

Hi. I have a 307cc (56 plate) with a 1997cc 143 bhp engine and automatic gbox. The engine and oil temp raises above the 90c mark when the car is caught in traffic on a hot day and he fan does not cut in until the temp is in the red zone and the auto gbox starts to snatch. As soon as the car reaches cruise on an open road the temp drops to the 90c mark and stays there. Is there a switch in the water jacket which may be in need of changing? Is this a switch or a temp sensor which sends signals to the CPU? Do you have a part No for the spare?

Hello

this sounds like there's a fault with the thermo switch /sensor

as the fan is activated by a thermo switch screwed into the cylinder block’s water jacket.
