Valve timing proceduresRemoval/refitting requires:Engine removal.Sump removal. NOTE: Refer to Technical Data module for tightening torques. Align coloured chain links with timing mark on each sprocket.Fig.18953.1 &Fig.18953.2 (blue), Fig.18953.3 &Fig.18953.4 (yellow). NOTE: Timing chain marks on high-pressure fuel pump sprocket maybe difficult to see. Remove:Upper timing chain and tensioner.Lower timing chain tensioner.High-pressure fuel pump sprocket and timing chain. Refit:Ensure crankshaft sprocket keyway at 12 o'clock position Fig.18953.5.Install high-pressure fuel pump sprocket and timing chain.Insert high-pressure fuel pump sprocket locking tool Fig.18953.6. Tool No.KV11106030.Align blue coloured chain link with high-pressure fuel pump sprocket timing mark Fig.18953.2.Align yellow coloured chain link with crankshaft sprocket timing markFig.18953.4.Align blue coloured chain links with timing mark on each camshaft sprocketFig.18953.1.Align yellow coloured chain link with high-pressure fuel pump sprocket timing mark Fig.18953.3.Reset timing chain tensioners:Push plungers into tensioner housings and lock with retaining clips. Refit timing chain tensioners.Remove retaining clips.
