I have a vauxhall combo and the car with spanner light comes on when driving have tried to put code reader on it but just says link error any idea of fault? only comes on when vehicle up to running temperature

A reason for the link error is EOBD was not compulsory on diesels before 2004.

The protocols used by your scan tool therefore might not be complient.

have compliant tool now says 0335 when checked it says crank sensor circuit fault would this mean sensor it self is at fault

In most cases a new sensor will cure the fault but you have to check there is no fault with the wiring to the sensor first.
